For many cottagers with floating docks using classic dock hinges, the process of disconnecting their dock system in the fall and reconnecting in the spring is a big challenge. The combination of the weight of the connecting ramp, temperature, wind, waves and terrain can make it difficult to align the components allowing the pins to be installed. It seems that everyone has an install story with bad language, a pin dropped in the water, pinched fingers or a sore back.
At Boon Docks we had a goal to find a solution that allows easy connection/disconnection of a dock ramp by one person without any tools. The result is our patent pending 'the better dock hinge'.
Contact us to change your current process to a solution that is less aggravating for you and those you recruit for help. With 'the better dock hinge', connecting your dock can be an effort similar to taking out the patio furniture in the spring.
